Energy retailer British Gas has announced that its customers will continue to benefit from half-price electricity over the coming summer of sporting events, as it celebrates its own sporting partnerships.
To benefit from the offer, consumers must be customers of British Gas, have a smart meter and be registered with British Gas as a participant. After a PeakSave event, customers will have half of their qualifying electricity spend refunded later as credit, including for pre-pay customers. Events will take place every Sunday, and there will also be two “Super Saturday” events on August 3 and September 7.
British Gas Energy’s managing director, Catherine O’Kelly, said the offer was already helping consumers to cut energy costs by moving their usage to off-peak times. She added:
“Tea and telly are a match made in heaven so we’re incredibly excited to launch this offer, and help the nation kick back with the sporting action and a cuppa in hand – knowing that they’ll be getting more for less all summer.”
British Gas also recently launched its PeakSave Green Flex scheme, whereby it offers customers further periods of cheaper electricity when there is an abundance of renewable energy available.
