Which? launches new service and gives tips for saving energy

Which?, the UK consumer champion, has launched a brand new service to provide improvements that can be made to a property to make it more energy efficient.

It has also given a number of tips for saving money on energy bills. The energy editor at Which?, Emily Seymour, said about these:

“There are simple steps you can take right now that won’t cost a penny but could help you cancel out the cost of the increase in the price cap.”

The first suggestion is to look at whether you could save money with your current energy provider by paying by direct debit or opting into paperless billing. While you probably won’t save massively by switching tariff or provider, you may be able to save around £50 a year if you’re currently paying the maximum allowed by the price cap. If you’re considering a fixed tariff, Which? advises you to be cautious of excessive early exit fees and an overly long commitment, and any fixed deal should be priced cheaper than the current price cap.

Which? also suggests getting your boiler serviced annually to ensure it’s working as efficiently as possible, as well as potentially replacing an old boiler that is coming to the end of its life.

Xgas can provide a boiler service in Wrexham and the surrounding region, as well as replace an old inefficient boiler with a modern condensing boiler that will be cheaper to run. You can also spread the cost through financing plans, so get in touch to learn more.
